Day 77

10/20/15

Day 77: Active in the cold

This morning was really cold but staying active helped a little. I am so thankful I found my sweater in time for this fall / winter weather!

Question of the day: Rain or snow?
Answer: If I HAD to choose one, I would pick snow.

- Warm up
- Lunge over the bridge
- Stretch out our legs
- 6 minute run down the road leading to the water waste area
- Go inside the baseball field
- Wall sit between verses of Thumbkin
- Run the bases
- Skip to the grass, push ups
- Lunges to the grass, jumping jacks
- Side shuffles to the grass, skater jumps
- Grape vines to the grass
- Circle on the grass and get out yoga mats
- Counting down from 5:
- 100's
- Step out planks
- Stretch it out, cool down
- Pack it up and head over to the play date

Pretty good workout today, I saw a little frog while doing wall sits and the group found out that yes, I do talk to myself and out loud!

The lunges across the bridge made my legs feel like noodles so I took them slower on the baseball field. Did kind of a high knee walk instead of skipping, I will work on building up my shins but that wasn't going to happen today.

It occurred to me today after looking at the pictures that Coral takes of our group, those are the only pictures of me that are really floating around because I really don't like my picture being taken. This made me a bit reflective of what would happen if I were to suddenly pass. My poor kids would only be left with pictures of me working out and nothing of fun memories. I am thinking I REALLY need to change that!

I have noticed that I seem a bit thinner in certain places thanks to all my hard work but I still have a very long way to go.

Play date was a small group but I think the kids had fun with the paint, I might have to buy some to help decorate our pumpkins instead of cutting them this year.

My brain is so tired. Between the bleh mood, being constantly busy and tired all day, I am finding myself drained by the time I get to these posts. I am slowly getting back to my happy self, it is just taking a bit more work than I thought it would. One day at a time. One work out at a time.

I don't mention my bad moods because I want pity hugs or thoughts, I want people out there to know that we all have bad days, weeks or even months but as long as we keep moving and going, we are good! I am slowly learning about my body and that breaks are important when it comes to working out. I don't need to be at every class, missing one or two is just fine. It won't end the world.

Today was one of those days that I really just wanted to stay in bed and just do NOTHING. It was really awful. Yesterday, I did just that until it was time for me to go coach my Son's soccer team. I knew that I had to get up and get moving in order to boost my mood and get rid of the heavy cloud above me. It worked for the most part but I am still not all the way recovered.

Day 73

10/9/2015

Day 73: Playing at Pioneer and the Skate Park

Riddle of the day: What is as light as a feather but the strongest person can only hold it for 5 minutes?
Answer: Ha! I guessed it right so I felt awesome. Readers, you can go ahead and guess right there in the comments.

Today we met up at Pioneer Park vs Ganser and it was nice and sunny instead of being rainy. We then moved over to the skate park and that was the first time I was in there. It is actually pretty cool!

- Warm up in the grass
- 5 Minute walk / run on the bike path

- Step ups or Box Jump
- Run around
- Chair dips
- Toe taps
- Head to the park playground
- Pull ups using
- Row pull ups
- Play around on the park until you are ready to go home

Today was good! I had fun and it was nice to be able to explore our skate park. I would be okay working out there again, for sure! My calves are so sore from yesterday though and all of that bleacher work that I enjoyed stretching them out.

I actually did a couple box jumps today and I felt so proud of myself. I jumped! It flowed much easier for me than doing the step ups but I think it was just how the curb was located. I am not ready to try this on any type of bench though! No way!

Holy crap, today was intense. I decided to pump it up today and I felt like I was swimming in a pool of sweat and death. My heart rate was up, I looked like I had just taken a shower and I was so proud of myself. My calf muscles were even twitching after all the work that we did!

The squats were an interesting twist today, I really felt them in my legs but in a good way. I wouldn't mind doing those ones again. I did have to take a small break in between a few of the sets that we did because it was sit down or pass out and roll down the bleachers, lol, that sounds bad but I was really not letting myself be lazy today. I drank almost all of my water during the workout but I think I ended up sweating it all out!!

I pushed myself but not over my limit and I am sure I will be really sore tomorrow, maybe even tonight but I had fun and was so proud of being able to just get everything done, even if I had to take breaks.

I am getting kinda worried about tomorrow though since we will be back at the other park. Coral mentioned playing around on some of the play equipment....not sure my arms are up to the challenge of lifting me up, we shall see and it will be fun no matter if I can do it or not since we have such a great support group going on!

18) Pack up and head to story time

Today was much better than yesterday! I was on time and in a good mood. I really enjoyed the new moves we did today and was glad that everyone needed a bit of explaining so I didn't feel like the dork of the group, lol

Looking back over the workouts, it is crazy to see how much we do in an hour!! It seems that as we progress more in class, the more we add to our routines. That is cool with me. I love how Coral has us learning at least one or two new moves a week.

My body is getting stronger in so many ways but I have been noticing that I have gotten weaker in some aspects. I do worry that because I don't really push myself on running activities that I am loosing all that I had built up.

That freaking squat challenge has killed squats for me. I notice that I struggle a little when trying to make sure that I get into the right position and that I tend to become stuck more often than not. I am going to have to just practice on off days and maybe even start up my Yoga and Pilates again.

Trying to get my breathing under control has become a thing for me. I feel like my lungs are just not all the way there and I am struggling to regain my breath faster. I would love to sing and workout but I am content with just breathing and moving, lol!!!
