Day 68

9/30/15

Day 68: Trial Day!
Not sure what is up with my brain today but I keep failing to remember the exact wording for the question of the day! Here goes my attempt, lol
Question: What improvements have you noticed, physically and / or mentally since you have joined MM?
Answer: I have noticed that I do not tire as easily. Thanks to socializing, I have made new friends and improved my mental health. I enjoy working out and my diet sure has changed! I was joking about this with the ladies a while back but I can't eat as much as I used to! This class also helped me to inspire both of my children to enjoy working out with me and by themselves so that was a plus for all of us.
Now to trial day! 1st numbers are last month and 2nd numbers are today!
1) Quick Warm Ups
2) Overhead Press: 20 / 25
3) Arm Curls: 30 / 35
4) 1/2 Mile Run: X / 8 mins 58 seconds
5) Wall Sit till you drop: 1 min 42 sec / 2 min 30 sec
6) Chair Dips: 30 / 30
7) Mountain Climbers: 30 / 40
8) Push Ups: 20 / 20
9) Plank till you drop: 1 min / 1 min
10) Downward Dog until you drop: 2 mins / 2 mins
11) Stretch it out
12) Pack up, go home
I decided to not look at my previous times before or after each of the sets and to look at them while I am making my post. I see much of the same and not a lot of improvement going on.
That 1/2 mile was stupid. Not gonna lie. I think I dragged my time out way too much since I had to stop and wait for my legs to stop burning and try not to cry. I was going to skip out on it but then both Coral and Kara looked at me and reminded me I was going to run this month. I am so disappointed in myself when it comes to running.
Wall sits! Really? After all that leg burning misery just 30 seconds before?! I guess running beforehand improves my ability to be stuck in that position.
Everything else was pretty basic and if you follow my blog, you will notice that we did not do step ups, fire hydrants or donkey kicks this month. Coral decided and we all agreed that there isn't much room for improvement with those activities so we aren't going to keep them in the trials. I think my butt totally needs to be worked out so I hope we have time to do a few tomorrow!
Today was a good day overall and I am glad that it is over! I am totally cool with my basic workouts. I really need to find a way to enjoy jogging or something because I hate being the slowest one in the freaking class!

My abs are hurting today. I have no idea if it is because we have been working them more or I have some kinda awful tummy pain causing issue. I am really hope it is because of sore muscles!

That walk to the college took me forever, for some reason I missed the part that we were actually walking up and doing stuff AT the college track so I took a mixture of fast and slow pace and I even stopped for a minute to let Lilly talk with the goats that were in their pen!

We finally caught up and I saw everyone running on the bleachers and they were almost finished. I heard Coral tell everyone that we were going to head over to the grass so I just waited and caught my breath.

I missed a little of the starting cat cows since I had let Lilly out and she was so excited about my yoga mat, she cuddled up with me and I didn't want to move her, lol

I was finally able to pick back up with the If you are happy section and I like doing those leg lift reverse crunch things. If my sore abs are telling me anything, I am getting some results! Hopefully!

I kinda took it slow on the way back but I still had to speed walk a bit since I had an appointment at 10 am to get my car fixed. Phht to that. Still waiting on my car and it has been over 6 hours. Hopefully I can have my car back tonight or I won't be making it to Trail Day tomorrow and my Son will have to miss school.

Little business talk here: My Tupperware Party is still going on! Orders need to officially be in by 9/30 with me!

Day 65

9/24/15

Answer: Shells, moss covered rocks, volcanoes. I went ahead and made a picture for today to go along with my answer.

14) Do another rotation around the court house

15) Meet up at the grass on Dame Shirley

16) Get out our mats for ab stuff

17) 4 minute ab routine

18) Stretch it all out, go home

Today was really interesting and I am glad that our group of sexy mama's did not cause a car accident, lol, I can for sure say that I am not used to working out with that many people around and it felt weird but I brushed it off and focused on myself and our group.

That first set of working out killed my shins, I am really feeling them now but I am so happy that I was able to do everything at all of the benches. I did cut the side step ups from 10 to 5 but I thought that was okay because the benches were freaking high up. I did find out that 2 people ate grass while doing those so I was happy I played it safe.

The rotation of things around the court house was pretty killer for me. I never knew how long those sidewalks were until I had to exercise on them! I did it and managed to keep up for the most part though.

The curb exercises were pretty fun and I thought I was doing something wrong with the wide marching steps since my legs felt fine and then we sang like 5 minutes of Dinah and I had my answer, lol!!

I felt bad for not really wanting to do the original throw downs that Coral wanted us to do but my legs and lower back were not feeling it. I am really happy we all agreed to do the ab workout instead. I really like how fast paced it goes and I feel like I am getting a great tummy experience.

Overall, I am glad we got to try out a new location today, even with all the exposure and I would be willing to workout with the group in that area again.

Day 64

9/23/15

Day 64: College Leg Day

Question of the day, relay style: What is your middle name
Answer: Lee

I found out the our group has a lot of shared middle names, lol, another reason to be such good workout friends?

1) Walk to the pea pod fence

2) Arm extensions with resistance bands

3) Lunge then extend arms with bands

4) Slow High Knees

5) Another set of Arm extensions

6) Head to the college trail

7) Run / Jog / Walk to the college track

8) Walk a lap around the track then meet on the grass

9) Get out yoga mats

10) Stretching and cool down

11) Walk back to the park and roll out

Today was fun, even with all the walking and running. My calves were totally feeling it on the walk to the college! Thank you, Janet, for the compliment on me looking good, I know I made such a bleh over people commenting on my weight loss journey earlier but it has been a while since I have heard a comment about that topic so I was totally okay with it this morning.

I didn't want to jinx myself or give myself false hope but I have been noticing some changing with my tummy, like it is shrinking down and I am getting thinner in that region. I will keep track of this with pictures and I might even measure myself!

I think that we got some good arm and leg workouts today and I wasn't as slow as I thought that I was going to be! Coral made sure to point out the time once we met up at the track, lol

My arms were feeling fine while we were doing all of the arm stretches and what have you but once we stopped, they were like noodles! I was glad when I had our walking to give them time to rest up.

I started off with a brisk walk then upgraded to a jog early on but then I just cooled it down again when my calves started to feel the burn. I power walked it to the track then took a slow walk along the track.

The grass felt really nice and fluffy today, whatever junk the college is using to keep the grass pretty and green is working, lol! I did have to take a small break in the middle of one of our stretching exercises and feed Lilly since that tooth she is growing is giving her some issues but it is breaking through the gums so it should be over soon, hopefully!

Overall, today was good and I think I am going to be so sore in my legs tonight since I still have to coach my team at soccer practice tonight, lol
