Day 115

12/31/15

Day 115: Last workout of 2015

Good day friends and family! I figured today would be a perfect day to make a post seeing as this is the last day of the year. The workout went really good and I am super sore. I am debating if I am fighting off a cold or I am just feeling this week's workout. It could be both.

The workouts have been progressing smoothly and I am lucky enough to have found a new member so I can take advantage of the deal that Coral is running so I can keep on trucking with my workouts for the month of January.

I feel like I have accomplished so much in the months that I have been working out. Mainly in my strength vs appearance. I am not a big fan of setting goals for the new years but I will stick with my getting healthy goals that I unofficially made.

Lately since my Son is on school vacation, I have been very bad and just sprawling on my couch watching netflix and playing on the computer. I do take breaks but I am really seeing the suffering from not being as active as I should be! Since we had a 5 day break for Christmas and normal days off, I was really feeling everything we did once we started up again.

I was crazy sore and tonight is not really any different even though I did start up on Tuesday instead of monday (I really just wanted to sleep in, so I did). I think that I am going to be very greatful once school starts up again and my normal routine begins again.

I am pretty basic: wake up, wake the kids up, drop of Son to school, go to workout class, come home, make food for everyone then just chill or do chores until it is time to pick up Son from school. This is followed by making an afternoon snack for the kids and then prepping dinner and getting the kids ready for bed and then just finding some me time before the next day starts.....well, now that I am typing it all out, I certainly feel as if I do a lot more than just sit around being lazy!

I also want to give a quick shout out to everyone in the Mama's group who have been really supportive of me and for putting up with my depressive moments. I really am getting better, I promise!

On that note, I will say good bye to an unhealthy mama in 2015 and welcome in a healthy, social mama that is loving to workout in 2016.

Day 111

12/22/15
Day 111: It's been a while

Question: What is your favorite holiday tradition that your family does?
Answer: I currently don't have one but when I was little, we would get to open one present on Christmas eve.

So as some of you may have noticed, I stopped blogging and posting on my facebook account for the past 8 days. I have been working out at every class so please don't think that I dropped off the band wagon! I am going strong but I didn't feel like blogging like I used to and I think the break really helped. 

Workout classes have been going great, I have been working up a sweat every day and Coral had a theme of the 12 Days of Christmas a few days back and it was crazy intense! Everyone was panting and dripping sweat once that class was over! When I got home and took my shower, I think it was the best feeling ever, lol. 

I will make sure to keep everyone in the loop but I will be changing up my blogs to be when I feel like posting and more of a thought process instead of listing out everything that I had done that day. 

Happy Holidays to everyone who celebrate and I will check in again, perhaps on Monday, our next class! 

Final notes: I had the great idea of a gift for myself or for anyone else in the class: I would love the gift of a month paid for my workout class, lol, that just occurred to me this morning and I thought it was pretty dang genius! It is something I would use and get the most joy out of. This will also be applied around the time of my birthday. I will never say no to a gift that I can use!

Day 103

Day 103: booty workout
Question: What is something cute or silly that your kid / kids have done recently?

I am really feeling those push ups that we did today, which is odd since we were mainly focusing on our butts. I did the leg lifts and become covered in sweat! Who knew holding up your leg at that angle would give you such a workout but it was! 
The mix of the bunny and old mac donald felt good on the legs, I was happy that my red band was working good today and I am really surprised that I am not feeling sore in my legs more. 
The hip circles were nice, my hips always end up so tense after our 3 days off so they like to have the stretching. I really need to make sure to go both directions before bed, lol, we kinda dropped the bad since Coral had to leave the room for a moment. 
The mat leg work involved some moves that were pretty crazy, the pulsing part really got me so I had to take it easy. The leg extensions were pretty intense on my hips but I am thankful I stuck it through. 
The yoga stretching felt good on sore legs and arms. I am going to have to really pump up my yoga flexing just so I can stop feeling all creaky and popping through out the day.


Day 102

Question: If you celebrate, do you have your Christmas tree up?
Answer: Not yet, I should get it up this week end though

Today went smooth! I got a good arm workout in and I enjoyed the band work. I tried the bear crawls again and I made it once across the room then I switched over to high knees. I am slowly building up to moving in that position and I felt so happy. I am going to keep on trying and improve a little more each time. 
The towel yoga was pretty fun, I was able to do most of the drill, besides some of the sliding backwards stuff, I tended to slip a little too fast so I did it a bit slow and got at least a couple in. The side to side yoga stretches felt good and it really helped me feel my muscles in my tummy more.

Day 101

Day 101

Question: What is your fitness / body goal at the moment?
Answer: Become more flexible and aim for a thinner tummy.

Wall sits, I know by now that I should have taken off my shoes so I could actually get my wall sit correctly but I did not so I just dealt with sliding.

The hi ho's were interesting today, everyone gave big numbers for their exercise and I feel like I could have gone bigger.

The Burpees! Thanks to Kara sharing a burpee video, Coral was inspired to try out a few and they weren't too bad! I can't do the fast burpees yet but I gave it my best until Lilly decided she wanted to be right under me, lol, I had to play a little dodge the toddler while preforming a couple of those moves.

Today was a good day over all, I had a positive attitude and we even went to story time after class.

Day 100

12/1/15

Day 100: Feeling sick

Question: What do you love and hate about Winter?
Answer: I love the chance to gather with family and friends for holiday parties and social gathering thanks to Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and my birthday! I hate the cold, the dirty icy snow that piles up everywhere (when we actually get snow) and the winter blues.

Today I felt awful. I was tired, my stomach was really upset and I was cranky. I could hear all the negative coming out of my mouth but couldn't seem to stop being a downer. I went straight home after class, got into my pj's, heated up a quick breakfast and I just crashed in bed after telling the hubs that I didn't feel good. I took a good few hour nap and felt almost better.

The only good thing I could come up with for my question of the day was my water became cold. I could list off 1,000 things I hated about winter though!! Since I am feeling better, I decided to actually flesh out my answer and now I am happy with it. I would really like to have more get together's with friends but that requires actual friends and a good location to party.

I decided to go to Reno last night to get some winter clothing shopping done for the kids and husband, I hate shopping for myself but I did end up with a couple of pair of leggings! I ate fast food, which my tummy was not used to and even took a trip to Starbucks. I think the combination of everything just killed my stomach and wore me out. If I missed today, I would have been even more miserable so I just took it slow and was happy I went, bad attitude and all.

I did sit out on a bit of the yoga stretching and I kinda zoned out playing the Lilly and Addie so when I looked over at Coral, she was doing what looked like a tilted broken foot pose, rofl, I am going to have to start doing yoga again on my own so I can look somewhat decent with all the skinny mama's doing their thing!

So for those mama's who read my blog, I am so sorry for my negative attitude. I am really trying my best to change that. Please remember that even though I have been going to this group for 100 days now, I am really not used to hanging out with people and my personality shows it.



Day 99

Day 99: New hip moves

Question: Describe your Thanksgiving in one word
Answer: Enjoyable

- Warm ups
- Circle the square with different moves
- Dinah with the bands
- Get out our yoga mats
- Complete a few rotations of:
- hip to the wall, lift one leg. Switch sides.
- lay down on your side, butt to the wall, knees bent. Switch sides.
- still laying on your side, butt still against the wall, angled and one leg straightened
- Plank with your hand against the wall, switching
- Downward dog
- Place your legs up against against the wall and lay flat on the ground.
- Cool down, pack up and head home

So many new moves today, it was a really nice change of pace. I was running a little behind thanks to a frosted over car but I made it in time for the basic workout.

I loved all the new hip moves, I wasn't feeling weird or odd when I did them and I really like the stretching against the wall at the end. I took the time to do a few extra moves, since I was going to be travelling and siting in a car for a few hours.

As for the picture today, I can totally vouch for all of these improvements! Except maybe the looking younger, haven't been told that one yet, lol, this blog is helping me build up my memory and I am loving all of the compliments that I am getting lately. 

I decided to just shove all the negative away when it comes to my thoughts and replies when getting a compliment and instead brag about the Mama's class and try to get people to come enjoy a free week!

Day 98

11/25/15

Day 98: The would be Trial Day

Question: What are you thankful for?
Answer: A healthy family

- Warm up

Today would have been trial day but since there was only 3 of us, we decided to do just a normal workout. Coral wasn't feeling too good so I hope that she didn't become worse thanks to holding class.

Arm band work really got my arms going today, I felt the burn and normally that would have caused me to pause and stop but I kept going because I wanted to actually work on getting results. The burn means its working, lol!!!

We did a few balance yoga moves in class and as Coral was demonstrating one of them, I just stared and sighed, she caught that and laughed. She then explained and showed me how it was when she first started with that particular pose. I felt a little tiny bit better but I attempted the pose and while I couldn't hold it as long as the others, as least I tried and didn't just give up, like normal.


Day 97

Day 97: 100 Ab day!

Question: What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
Answer: The crispy skin on the Turkey

Today was freaking TONS of ab work! Good reason though, we are celebrating our 100 day of working out. My numbers may be a bit off thanks to a few cancelled or missed classed but it was close enough to 100 to make it work, lol

Coral had us do the same ab routine over the span of the entire class and we made sure to do 100 of everything. I have to admit I was really disappointed that I was not more sore after this class. I was covered in sweat and I pushed myself but the next day I wasn't really feeling it as much as I wanted.

The 100 seconds warm up at the start of class seemed to last FOREVER, lol, you never seem to realize how long certain things are until you want to stop but know that you need to keep going!

The stretching and toning is something I am getting better at. I am actually putting more effort into the yoga poses vs just chilling out for some water and it is helping me feel more limber.


Day 96

I am all over the place with my blog lately. I have been skipping days, telling myself I will do it later and then while I do, I am forgetting things like question of the day or different activities that we had done,

Today is one of those days where remembering the question of the day was just not happening.

The liners were good, I tend to just speed walk vs run or jog. I had fun with the barre stretches, lots of pointed feet and knee bending with that one. I shared a video with Coral and she got a few tips from it. A big thank you from the class was shared with me, lol

The dinosaur book was a lot of jumping. Every time she said the word Dinosaur, we jumped, lol

The jumping jacks are always a challenge on the arms and the ab work went smoothly.

The telling time moves are pretty good on the legs, you want to make sure just to wear socks and no shoes while you are moving one leg and it is great for balance. I am happy to have a clock to reference when my brain pulls a dork and forgets what position I should be in, lol!!




Day 95

Day 95: The delayed blog

Question: What is the most sore you have been from a workout?
Answer: I had to think about it but I would say from this class because I haven't taken any other type of workout on my own that was to this extent.

:Edit notes 11/30/15: So my brain wouldn't really let this one go. I tried to just move on but it wasn't happening, lol, I remembered the question of the day and a few of the workouts that we had done. I added them in.

Life has been so busy and a bit stressful lately so I decided to skip a day on my blog. We worked out of Friday but I never posted about it.

It was a small class, just three of us and Coral but it was still nice. Worked up a sweat working out and it helped me destress a little since I already had been on the go since I woke up. After class, I had a non stop rushing day and was so happy just relax at home for the night.

I am slowly making my way through my scattered and missed posts now. Life has been crazy but it finally calming down!

Things went good today, that new story was a killer with some of the moves. I kept slipping with my shoes on while doing the push ups but I got them done! For a moment, I thought that I was not going to feel the leg lifts and then we moved across the room to do lunges and there it was, lol, I am feeling okay now though.

I was feeling kinda bleh last night thanks to fighting off a small sore throat that my daughter shared with me thanks to her teething issues but I felt good during working out today. Lilly was a total cuddle bug so Coral helped me out and wore her in a pack so I could get a good workout in.

I went back to red band today and did good. I also took off my shoes to do the wall sits and it was SO much better! I didn't have slipping issues but my toes were not so attractive today, lol, I took care of that once I got home.

I don't really have much to talk about today other than I had a good workout and built up a good sweat. I am hoping tomorrow will be as good, if not better.

Question: Do you have an animal nickname that you call your child / children?
Answer: Nothing current that we do but I think something with Bear has been tossed around with both kids, Lilly might have gotten Lilly bug, once or twice. I tend to use more terms like Sister or Mama when talking to Lilly and I just call Santi Son or Brother.

Today was a bit on the down side for me, I have some personal stuff that has got me really stressed and worried and it showed in my workout. I had to regress down to the green band and I haven't done that in a long while. My hip is also really sore from my shot and I am so over the hurts. I think that today helped with stretching out those muscles though.

Keeping it short and simple today, not really much to talk about but I did go to class and I did get some movement in. Tomorrow will be another day and I just will just breath through it all.

The studio started out really hot this morning, I am really happy that Coral was able to turn down the heat or I would have been miserable! 

The leg routines were pretty good today, I was about to do them all without feeling like ym butt was going to fall off, lol, my only issue was with the calf pulses and the bottom of my feet were hurting instead of me feeling it in my calves. It was odd because I normally always feel it in my calves. 

Old Mac Donald had a couple funny moments, when you go to suggest an animal, always make sure you know what sound they make, lol, otherwise we all make a bunch of crazy weird noises!

The yoga moves Coral had us do today felt good, I was able to pull them off and I didn't feel so bleh about it. I am just glad I didn't let my partner down!

Funny story with one of our leg stretches: We were bending and flexing our legs in different ways and I happen to look over at Coral once my daughter had allowed me to turn my head and all I see is Coral looking like a pretzel with her legs all bent and folded up. I attempted it but failed miserably on that pose, rofl, I did make sure to stretch out my thighs and legs though since that was our focus today.

That dice game never seems to get any easier and I am glad that Coral isn't having us stick with winning and losing rewards, lol, I am finding myself on the slower team but it is okay, at least I am getting my workout in and making sure that I am getting my correct form vs hurrying through everything.

Answer: I would just grow my own food. I would have a seriously difficult time with the meat part but I would still try, lol

Today was good! I was covered in sweat and I was still able to maintain a slow and steady pace. I was really worried about becoming over heated during the side shuffles and I totally thought my nose was about to start bleeding. I was okay though and that is when I pulled back.

My upper thighs / legs were much better on the sore today until we hit the Donkey kicks, rofl, I also noticed a difference on how you can feel the muscles when you use your hands and knees to balance vs using your forearms. I did all billion of the leg things though and I was feeling good and sweaty once I was done.

Those bear crawls were crazy for me today. Obviously something I need to improve on! I got a bit dizzy so I had to stop and do a different activity instead. I don't think anyone wants me passing out on them, lol, one of the other mom's was assigned reverse lunges so I just did those. Worked out perfect.

I was really excited that Coral brought out the jump ropes today! I was taking it nice and easy today and I did some travelling jumps. I think that makes it so much easier on my shins which have been building up some resistance so they don't hurt as much when I jump! That is such great news for me!

Ah, the cool down yoga and stretching. I was trying to just unwind in my own little way since my tummy had been a little upset from me getting hungry and a bit hot. I really wanted to do some leg flutters but I figured that wasn't really cooling down so much as more leg work, lol

I may or may not have gotten a spoiler about tomorrow and found out that we might or might not be doing some yoga. I think I am going to bust out my tighter workout pants so I can make sure Coral can catch me on my body posture. My baggy pants tend to hide my figure.
