Day 83

10/29/15

Day 83: Trial Day!

Question of the day: What are you and your family dressing up for during Halloween?

Answer: My family and I are sticking to a Harry Potter theme this year.

Last month is listed first and today is listed second and in bold.

1) Overhead Press: 25 / 30
2) Arm Curls: 35 / 40
3) 1/2 Mile: 8 minutes 58 seconds / 9 minutes 6 Seconds
4) Wall Sits: 2 minutes 30 seconds / 1 minute 30 seconds
5) Chair Dips: 30 / 40
6) Jump Rope: 30
7) Mountain Climbers: 40 / 40
8) Push ups: 20 / 15
9) Plank: 1 minutes / 1 minute 6 seconds
10) Downward Dog: 2 minutes / 2 minutes

There are some great improvements going on this month and I made sure to not even look at my last month's numbers until I got home. I didn't want the added pressure of trying to get better or feeling bad if I did worse.

It was really cold out this morning and poor Lilly was frozen by the time we were finished. I wish she would wear gloves or a hat. I feel like a bad mom when I see her shivering but she yells at me when I put more layers onto her and just strips them off.

That run time is a fail in my book but I was really proud of myself for actually doing it! I would have loved to sit off to the side and just let the other ladies run all they want but I told myself that I didn't care what my time was going to be, I was going to get it done! Any time is better than sitting or standing around doing nothing.

The leg cramps were almost worth it, lol, freaking right side of my body is always cramping up first! It is always in the same spot too. By my ankle, where it flexes is where it ends up hurting the most. Luckily, the pain goes away as I stretch it out but while I am running or jogging, it SUCKS.

I made sure to dig dip on this wall sit and actually look like I am sitting on an invisible chair. Thanks to the wet grass, my legs kept trying to slide out from under me. I think I gave the ladies a laugh with the weird angle of my leg today! So even though my time was shorter, my body position was better off, besides that weird leg, lol

The jump rope was a fun addition! I actually really like jumping rope and Lilly laughed while I was jumping. I really felt the jumping in my stomach today, the muscles were very confused. Between yesterday's activities and today's I have really been putting myself into actually getting some sweating workouts done. More jumping and actually managing to get the correct posture in has been my goals this week.

Coral was nice enough to check and correct my downward dog and jeeze, I have seriously been doing it wrong! I felt so much more stretch and pull today! I am honestly surprised that my time stayed the same as last month since I was getting the shaking arms and legs going on!

Coral also made sure to correct my plank position. I had my butt too far in the air so I had to lower it and I instantly felt that in my stomach and arms! She recommended that I use my knees for better support and I held out for as long as I could just normal plank but I ended up on my knees and my right leg started to cramp, no surprise there.

Today was pretty kick ass. No going easy before trial day and I am glad for it. I was covered in sweat and feeling everything we did during class. I thought once I sat down, I was going to be stuck on the ground!

During the wall sits, I felt like velcro since I could hear and feel my shirt peeling away from the wall we were using. It was pretty funny. The kids were so funny to watch during this section since they were doing the workout with us in their own way, lol

That count down section was a bit brutal but I pushed through it and only blehed out on the jumping jacks. I did everything else in the correct way, no lower modifications needed. I felt a moment of pride before feeling like keeling over, lol!!!

One down side today is my internet went out for a good portion of the day, hence why my post is so late. I meant to write it out before I started forgetting different moves but alas, I didn't so and now I am missing a few things but I am sure I will remember them later. If I do, I will just edit.

Day 81

10/26/15

Day 81: Arm day

Question: What is one of your irrational fears?

Answer: Irrational is throwing me off. I feel mine are all rational, lol, I will put Swimming in big areas of water on top of my list though.

- Head to the bridge
- Toe Taps
- Jog around to the baseball field
- Divide onto bases and on each base:

- Arm extensions
- Remove bands then move to the grass
- Get out yoga mats and attach bands to our feet:
- Flutter kicks
- Legs of a Star Fish
- Stretch it out, Pack up and go home

Today was good, I was able to wear my new workout jacket and it kept me nice and warm. It is so funny to see how the sun affects our workouts and our opinions from the summer weather to being freezing! Going from dreading the hot sun to being happy it is there.

I was so proud of my wall sit today, I made sure to dig in deep and gosh dang, I got stuck. I had to shift out of it before the song was over or I would have fallen over. It would have been an awesome picture, lol, maybe I will get there again on Trial day?

My arms were feeling like noodles after all of that band work, I 100% felt that burn! Now that I have had a few hours to sit, I can say that I am back to popping and creaking since I wasn't moving around so my joints stiffened. Good thing I have soccer practice tonight to work out those extra pops!

Day 80

10/23/15

Day 80: Pioneer and Skate Park

Riddle of the day: How can a pants pocket be empty and still have something in it?

Answer: Ha! Just like last time, guess to find out!

- Side
- Pack up the yoga mats and head to the skate park
- Rotation of: 2x total

Today was freaking freezing in the morning. My windshield was frozen over and I really wish I had worn a scarf today. I will do better to remember one on Monday!

That freaking riddle though. My brain was cold and I was still a little stressed so I totally didn't get it until Coral gave a hint. I feel awesome that I did get it though!

I think Pioneer Park is really growing on me and my feet stayed dry so I am enjoying it a bit more than Ganser. The skate park is such an interesting place but sometimes Lilly gives me a panic attack when she wonders too close to a ledge. I am going to have to just keep her in the stroller if she doesn't learn to stay by my side.

I did a bunch of jumping today, it was nice except the chest area. I really need to work on my jumping jacks, lol, I move all over the place! I got so used to doing the low impact ones that my body is confused by an actual jump!

The jump rope was fun as well. I would like to do that one some more. I really felt it in my stomach, in a good way. The only issue I had with it today is that since they were so new and curled up, it kept catching on my feet, lol

My planks do need some work. I have no idea what the heck happened, I used to be better at them. Not sure if it is a mental thing or what. I guess I need to take the time at home to practice.

Day 79

10/22/15

Day 79: Personal Trainer Day

Question: Would you rather give up junk food or tv for the rest of your life?
Answer: Junk food! I am trying to be healthy anyways so that would be a great start.

My picture of the day is a play on this question, silly junk food!!

- Walk the track to warm up
- Head to the bleachers
- Pyramid of, starting with 45 seconds:
- Sprints
- Side Squats
- Push ups
- Box Jumps
- Inner thigh band work:
- one person does 30 each leg
- one person runs up and down bleachers
- Walk over to the grassy area, but we stayed on the track and out of the way
- Get out bands for Old Mac Donald
- Get out yoga mats
- Attach bands to feet for flutter kicks
- Star Fish legs with the bands
- Stretch it all out, pack up and head home

Today was a very interesting day! I was the only one in the class so it was like Coral was my personal trainer for the day.

I had a bunch of fun and while it did feel weird at first because it was only the two of us, I was actually able to pull off more workouts and put myself into it vs just kinda skating by since there are more of us.

I did more running and jumping today than I normally would and I was feeling so sweaty when I was completely done. I am sore and happy!

Those star fish legs really helped stretch out muscles I don't normally stretch out and I think it helped my legs feel better after all the bleacher work.

The push ups really made me feel old since I was creaking and popping so much but I got into it and it became easier.

Overall, today was an interesting experience and I was really happy that Coral did not cancel class! I really enjoyed the workout today. I am slowly getting into the jumping activities but I just need much better support for the boobs! I am finding that if I just hold them close to me then I can actually do jumping jacks and other such things. I just really don't want to have to wear 3 different bras for support!

Day 78

10/21/15

Day 78: Soggy feet relay

Question of the day: Do you speak another language and if no, do you want to and which one?
Answer: No, but I did take both Spanish and German. I am okay with only English.

- Warm up stretches
- Follow the leader to the Trial Day 1/2 mile starting point
- Side Squats on the sidewalk to the bathroom
- Set up for a relay (not in order and I am forgetting a round or two)
- side shuffle / backpedal
- skip / hop scotch
- High knees / Butt kicks
- Run / Squat in front of the strollers
- Move to the picnic benches next to the baseball field
- Rotations on 5 tables of 10 each:
- Leg dips
- Chair dips
- Push ups
- Step ups
- Move to the grass by the bathroom, get out yoga mats
- If you are happy and you know it:
- Pat your knees
- Side to side
- Reach up high / tall
- Ride a Bike
- Do a stretchy body pose Coral learned in Yoga camp
- Stretch out, cool down, pack up, roll out

Today was cold and wet but I got a good sweat going without feeling sick. I did miss out on that new pose that Coral learned but I will make up for it tonight at my Soccer practice. There will be more running and fun to be had then.

My poor feet were so wet after the workout that I was leaving wet foot prints behind with my shoes. I made sure to dry off my feet very well so I don't end up sick! That is the last thing I need right now.
